Lifestream for Chrome
Chrome extension privacy policy
Last updated 15 October 2026
The Lifestream extension lets your own Lifestream home, a program on your own computer, fetch your data from websites you are signed in to. Everything it reads goes only to the home at the address you type when you pair it. The maker of the extension runs no server for it and never receives your data.
Who makes the extension
Lifestream is made by an independent developer. Questions go to [email protected].
What it reads, and only when your home asks
- Pages on the sites you set up, in tabs of its own, kept apart from yours: your conversations on ChatGPT and Claude, and the data exports you request from Google Takeout and other sites you choose.
- Files it downloads for you: your export files, read back from your computer to send to your home, then removed.
- Sign-in details your home holds, filled into a site's sign-in form only on that site, when your home asks it to sign in for you.
It does not read your own tabs, your browsing history, or any site you have not set up. Each site beyond the ones it starts with is asked for, one at a time, when you set that site up.
Where it goes
Only to your home, at the address you type when you pair the extension. Nothing is sent to the maker, and the extension contains no analytics, advertising or tracking code. Nothing is sold, used for advertising, or used to judge creditworthiness. Your data is used only to copy it into your own home.
The use of information received through the extension adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
Stopping and removing
- Remove a site in the extension's popup, or remove the extension from Chrome. It stops at once.
- What your home already holds stays on your computer until you remove it there. The maker has no copy.
Changes
Changes to this policy appear on this page with a new date. A new kind of data, or a new place data goes, is described here before the extension uses it.
